I saw that review, only one of the bunch that actually called the game out on its bullshit.

Combat system was pretty slick, but I liked Valkyrie Profile's better. It did more or less the same thing but without the whole grinding for deathblows and relying solely on Gears for the last third of the game. And playing Gears was pretty cool, but it felt like every battle was a race against time to prevent yourself from running out of fuel. Until the end, where you can coast with some really broken parts.

On the other hand, I thought Xenosaga ep.1 became everything that XGs should've. Then they fucked it up with 2.

@Satsu: It makes perfect sense, because at that time DBZ and Gundam were getting hella popular and some people already were watching Eva. And it's a poor combination of all of that.

xenosaga part 2 would have been a lot better if they didn't axe the item shops

Would've been a lot better if they didn't neuter the combat system and replace key voice actors. Ugh.

Tbh, I never really watched that much Gundam, or any of Eva.  I think I only watched G Gundam to completion, and then most of the 00 Team, but I was like...10 when I watched that so I can't remember that series for shit.

By 1998 I'm pretty sure I saw plenty of G Gundam and Gundam Wing. As this game was targeted for adults, I wouldn't be surprised if older anime fans had access to Eva in some form or another. I know it aired on riskier channels.

And speaking of animes, have you guys heard of Asura's Wrath? Do they have it on Netflix yet?

I saw Eva around I'm sure, I'm just saying I never sat down and actually watched it.  Gundam Wing, I watched sporadically so I don't like to count it.

And I heard Asura's Wrath is indeed a damn good anime.  Never again will Playthroughs be so thoroughly watched.

I saw a couple anime images of Asura's Wrath, but they were going to be some kind of DLC, but no more info then. Did i miss something?

It's a shot at the fact that Asura's Wrath is not a videogame at all really.

Ratio wise, though obviously MGS4 was a longer game and thus more cutscenes.

Which is two games instead of one, and being named Version 2 rather than the usual changeup of the name, exactly what part of those is predictable other than knowing that a game was coming after the first two?
