And they wasted no time bringing in the Shipping Homewrecker.
Yesterday just seemed like a bad day for shippers everywhere. First Young Justice, and then Korra...I could see the anger from all the way over here.
As for the actual episode, yeah, solid enough. Nice to see that Korra isn't as self-assured as she seemed. It makes sense that her whole sense of security is tied to her bending, which makes Amon extra fearsome to her.
Amon also showed why he's a very intelligent antagonist. He ignored Korra's call for a 1 on 1, brining his cronies anyway, he denied the chance of an actual fight. And he kept her bending intact. Now normally, that last part is typical stupid villain fare that ALWAYS blows up in their face, but in this case, he was very correct in doing so and even stated why. As it is now, he has a solid following, however whatever following he has probably isn't gonna stand up to the might of three pissed off nations coming down on him for taking out the Avatar. On top of that, Korra serves him a lot better alive. With her brashness, she's likely going to grate on people the wrong way, especially non-benders, which will drag more people to his cause.
However I still don't know how Amon will execute his endgame. While it seems non-benders do outnumber benders, I doubt he'll get every single one to his cause, and if it's a 1:1 ratio between benders and non-benders, even if they're all chi-blockers, I do not like their chances. I'm gonna guess that his best shot is sort of like the thing that happened in The Incredibles. Shame the benders so bad they're forced into hiding or submission while non-benders take all seats of political power. Don't know how he'll do it though.
