Some comments from the runback about my friend KaneBlueriver?

I wanna know the opinion from the people of the states

Was he beating people with raiden? if so, he was cool.

yep was him

Does anyone had a link with the tokido vs romance match?

Had a good set with Kim Kaphan, online is still ass but I feel like I'm getting better overall and had some fun with Hwa and Clark.

That was an amazing grand finals for MLG but I think the best matches of the event were Romance vs Tokido, and Romance vs Reynalds.

Actually, a lot of the best matches I've seen for KoF usually involve Romance. lol

LouisCipher

Well fuck, I missed the finals at MLG. On that note there's way too many interruptions during the matches.

Can anyone link to the Romance vs Tokido matches?

That was really an impressive series, a lot of great match and variety of characters. personally the two most impressive to me (because the other one I already know or see how them work, benimaru, chin, clark, ash, kyo, iori, nest kyo, ex iori, takuma, mr karate) was yuri's romance, ryo's reynald, maxima's ricky, dl's chris and of course the way of (drunk) play hwa's tokido...

what an entertainment :3 I also enjoy a lot the comment of juicedbox and answer, both of them seriously into the game... I envy all of you so badly -.-,

Great tourney, Tokido VS Romance the first time was the most fun.

Grand Final was pretty anti-climactic though, as per usual when it contains Bala. Hoping for something a little more hype inducing at Evo.

The rankings were as I see them right now in the US, 1. Bala 2. Reynald 3. Romance.

And yeah Jucebox and Answer were great, they both have great knowledge of the game and a solid chemistry together. Best commentator duo for KOF easily.

No. Man is annoying as is. I'd rather have Tasty Steve when possible. He's actually funny.

I enjoy the answer and Juicebox until they start with the ultra bised commentary, after tokido vs bala I don't feel like watching the rest of the series

The only issue I had with MLG was the commentary (and the very obnoxious "let's give it up for E-Sports!" stuff... but that's just me- even if I don't like how they present themselves I must give MLG credit for establishing such a great prize pool). I have a lot of respect for Juicebox and the Answer for doing their very best, but I feel they could both improve a lot still. I find Juicebox to be a little too emphatic to have him onscreen the entire time. I get that he's excited but when he breaks down to grunting and squealing... that's not commentary. The Answer I feel is trying to level the playing field too much, by explaining every little obvious thing. I realize that something that's obvious to me might not be for others, but there is such a thing as oversimplifying things.

Regardless, I was very happy with the quality of play. Hopefully they keep running KOF, it's amazing what's going on in the community at the moment.

East Coast Throwdown finals were pretty bad. Surprised me to see a Hwa player never use Drunk mode and use D DragonBreaker on the ground and never get punished for it...

In terms of commentary for KoF, I think Metaphysics is the best person for the job. He's knowledgeable enough in the game and actually points out a lot of key points in a match that would normally get looked over. He doesn't get "lost" during the hype of a match to the point where the commentary suffers. I'm not sure who's the best person to be partnered with him for commentary. I'd rather not have someone strictly for comedic relief like Hellpockets or Tasty Steve. I don't find that kind of commentary really adds anything.

The level of play from MLG was excellent and I caught Tokido recording the matches on his phone so he's definitely going to be more prepared for the next event (CEO or Evo?). It wouldn't surprise me if he picks up Yuri for Evo after how much of a hard time she was giving him during MLG. I really want to see an improvement from Tokido because so far his game play is kind of one dimensional but he maximizes his damage off of everything. Also, he seems really into the game because I've never seen him that animated between rounds before.
