I thought there should be a thread dedicated to this that's easy to find.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhOk8NSlzmk (Semi Final 1)

These Vids are the ones uploade by THE ANSWER.

I'm under the impression that these were the only matches on the Stream. If I'm wrong, please post these matches here.

Shit, if I paid 1500 yen to watch the stream I'd feel damn ripped-off if it only consisted of three matches.

I'm sure there were other matches. These are just the only ones that the Answer has (graciously) uploaded to youtube for us.

LouisCipher

I read somewhere maybe 1Up.com or Event Hubs or something that SBO wouldn't stream every match. So, there could be more, but who know.

Yea.  More evidence that Raiden is OP...

THE ANSWER

I took the liberty of updating your post.

Damn, I wanted to check out a variety of characters too.

I'm surprise a Mai player went to the finals, but not surprise by Raiden winning SBO.

LouisCipher

Sorry I didn't give credit, I wasn't trying to take credit for the vids or anything.

I don't think Raiden is OP. The dropkick is just really good if he charges it long enough and catches you. Plus when he's charging he can't command grab you. So the risk/reward is proportionate there.

Obviously lack of command grab doesn't seem to hinder him much.

Bloody Hell! Look at the damage Raiden can deal!

Also, is anyone disappointed the lack of diversity in the high level matches? I mean, I was really looking forward to maining K', but now I'm sick of seeing him! Ya think this is a result of balancing issues or just to do with the fact the game is new and needs time for high level play to branch out and evolve?

Oeppu simply outplayed Gian in the finals with Raiden.

Yeah, dropkick helped, but most of his damage just by playing better footsies.

True, he was stuffing practically every jump-in attempt too with st. A/C, his K' was also pretty damn good, gotta admit Oeppu had that last match on lock

I keep seeing people bring this up and I have to ask:  Which KOF series have you been keeping tabs on?  Top tiers are constantly being seen in high level play.  You get some other characters like Andy popping up here and there.  Like always.  This isn't new.  You can look at any KOf and no matter how balanced people say it is, you still see top tiers A LOT.  In 98UM Krauser is everywhere.  You'll see more variety as time goes by but the top tiers will still be a constant sight.
KOF XIII:
-K'/EX Kyo/EX Iori
-K'/Andy/Kyo
-Benimaru(Duo Lon)/Robert/Takuma(Iori)

Might controls everything.

Personally, i feel a bit spoiled from SF4/SSFIV with a lot of high level players sticking to a specific character or 2 no matter what and making that character work in whatever situation, which is prob more of an american mindset than across the ocean.

LouisCipher

K' is fine the way he is. I mean, he's not broken, he's just really good. It's like complaining about Ryu/Ken in the SF games, they're not broken, just really good.

Liz is a little broken with her easy link into DM. Then there's the infinites a few characters have. That shit will probably be nerfed in the console port.

But keep in mind to do what the Raiden player did you have to hold down B and K for 16 seconds  so it isn't an easy link. My guess is that the dmg may be nerfed a little bit in the console port, but I don't think that's necessary.
