In my experience, EX akegarasu (qcb+BD) doesn't actually go through projectiles.  It might go through them on start up, but I've done it from mid screen to try and safely close distance on someone, and they hit me with a FB after I had started the move.  To be fair, it may have been an EX fireball, I can't remember, but it definitely seems to me that "EX akegarasu has invincibility to fireballs" is highly exaggerated.
Maybe it has weird invincibility where it can only pass through FB already on the screen

shouldn't your combo only take 2 bars, since you're using Yatagarasu during HD mode?  I didn't see any other EX moves or supers in it

really easy HD combo (4 stocks, 968 damage) that is probably already known...

Approaching corner: st. C, df C, [HD], st. C, df C, qbc+AC, qcb+A, (dp+A [HDC] qcb+D)x3, qcf hcb+A [MC] qcf2x+BD.

Does 998 starting with jump C.

Also with this already posted corner BnB:

    j.C, s.C -> df+C -> qcb+AC, qcb+A, dp+A -> (DC) qcb+K, qcb+A, dp+A or super

You can add an additional qcb+A at the beginning (qcb+AC, qcb+A, qcb+A, dp+A [DC] qcb+D, qbc+A, dp+A/super) for a few more damage and more meter building.  It's not really any more difficult to do than the single qcb+A

so you can in fact push them around while they are frozen?  I didn't realize.  But yeah, it seems to not be worth using in combos at all.

as somebody with fairly sloppy inputs, one of my favourite things about claw Iori is that I never accidentally get DMs when doing drive cancels with him.

it definitely taught me some new things to do in the corner without using HD.  I didn't realize you could do so many qcb+A in a row.  Pretty good that you can get easy 500-600+ in the corner without HD, using only 1 or 2 stocks and a drive

HDC is hyperdrive cancel.  Also, for his EX rekkas, I think they have some invicibility on start up.  Other than that, they do more damage than the C version and seem to travel farther, and if you drive cancel into EX rekkas from something that puts them in the air (like second hit of DP or second hit of normal rekkas) they get put in a juggle state.

I would say that he DOES still have pretty good damage.  He has a lot of really simple combos that do between 250 and 400 without using too much meter...However, that seems to be a pretty hard plateau that requires a lot of stocks or using HD to pass.  cl.B, f+A,A, qcf+C, super cancel ya otome - saika does around 450 (2 stocks, 1 drive), i think, but getting over 500 takes some doing

On the otherhand, claw Iori's normal corner BnB does like 470-500 (and is easy) depending on what you use as a starter for 1 stock and one drive, and adding more stocks/drives can easily boost it up to like 700.  I don't think there is any doubt that EX iori's dp is much better (normal and EX), and being able to zone a bit helps him too

If you hit an EX fb and leave them frozen for longer (more hits), does it make the damage scaling on the rest of the combo worse?  EX fb already seems to scale stuff really badly...

it seems to me that if you do something like qbc+B (HDC) qcb+AC, [dp+A (HDC) qcb+B(maybe D)] with [...] looped, it should carry them pretty well.  I'm pretty sure it carries better than [qcb+B (HDC) qcb+C (one hit)] looped, anyway.  I don't know if using the qbc+AC is really worth the meter, but it definitely pushes them pretty far and gets them up high enough to follow with dp+A without using HDC

Even in shorter combos, the difference in damage is really small.  Ya Otome -> saika does like 2-5 less damage in most cases I've tried than EX ya otome. 
Super-easy stuff like cl.C, f+A, qcf+C, (or cl.B, f+A,A, qcf+C), super cancel Ya otome -> saika might even do more than super cancel EX ya otome.

From my own testing, it seems like technically, the target combo (close B, close D) isn't cancellable by itself.  It's only possible to cancel it if you do a cr.B first.  Can anybody smart confirm this?

is there any sort of consensus as to what the best blockstring for Iori to use is (without spending meter)?  I tend to use cl.C, f+A,A, qcb+C because it seems to push them to the corner pretty well, and qcb+C seems to be reasonably safe due to it pushing Iori away a bit when it's blocked. 
cl.C, d/f+C, qcb+B would probably be decent as well, but I can't remember if qcb+B actually links from cl.C, d/f+C (and I don't really know how safe it is on block, either)...
