Learned the butt loop, huge thanks to Sprint and his vid, couldn't have done it without.


Now this character should be more fun, didn't feel like I was playing her proper without knowing this (kinda like Joe without stun combo, just ain't the same, not as fun).

How good would you guys say is her reflector for shutting down hoppers? I know its really fast because Kensou's crouch D into fireball bullshit doesn't work on her thanks to it.

i agree and took athena off my main team cuz of it. i was really dissapointed in myself because i spent over a solid week grinding this combo a few hours a day. i could only get it come out occasionally, and that wasnt until after watching that video as well.

as far as i remember, her reflector will shut down any hop, just have to do it a bit pre-emptively. reacting i think will only have enough time on a full jump.

for those that have this combo down, how would you rank its difficulty in comparison to other characters main combos? i swapped athena for elisabeth, and i always thought liz was on the higher execution side just for the timing, but im finding all of her combos incredibily noob friendly in comparison to athenas f.B loop.

i just picked up liz a lil while ago myself, and im pretty stumped about the j.C stuff as well. pretty much from any DP i have no idea how to get it to connect. ive just been doing hyper hop j.D instead. is there any benefit doing j.C instead of j.D?

for the dp+A [DC] qcf+AC; just do dp+A~AC. immediately press AC after the dp+A, no directional inputs needed. idk for sure, but you might have to do 6236+A (f,qcf+A) for the DC to work. i think somebody that knows more could answer better. my stick has such a tiny throw i cant get a dp to come out any other way.

i also have a question about this drive cancel when outside the corner. s.C, f+B > dp+C, dp+A, [DC] qcf+AC, qcf+B, qcf+C, dp+A > j.D

when i cancel the dp+A into qcf+AC outside the corner, sometimes it cancels into dp+AC instead. for this combo, qcf+AC only seems to come out when i buffer the DP input super early with a big gap before pressing A~AC. is that the only way for the cancel to come out, or is there a certain input i can add between the A~AC to keep dp+AC from coming out? i feel like im not doing that big gap between the input and button press for the corner combo, so i have no idea why the dp+AC is coming out outside of the corner.

i spent a good 2-3 weeks doing training mode really hard  before i hopped online. i wanted to atleast have some basic stuff down before i tried to put up a fight.

i will play runaway if the opponent has a huge life lead, while i have just a hair left, to run out the timer as much as possible.

Hey guys I had a match up question. How do guys deal with these characters kula, robert, andy, kenso,duo lon and ex kyo I'm really having problems getting around these characters? It seems like I keep getting beat out before I get something out I get caught with srk's from running in to start offense and a lot low quick pokes. IDK when I have them caught in the mind games I take out two characters or win but other than that I drop the ball on the match up.
i dont use clark and im not so great at this match up, but from the perspective of andy it sounds like you got them scared of you getting in and grabbing them, so they are trying to play hit n run / keep away... if you keep getting caught by srk and low pokes trying to get in i would say just try to make him come to you. andy cant really do anything to clark from far away except throw out fireballs, which you can ex gatling through to punish and get in. as andy, that "defensive clark" Louis is talking about really gets me. that hop D / CD can get me pretty steamed lol

I don't think that's completely fair. Robert has his share of great normals, a command grab, and a taco kick so it's not all just "gimmicky stuff."

hmmm i play against an extremely high lvl robert somewhat frequently. his robert makes me scared to even move or press any buttons at times. i always felt robert is a really amazing character.

does his greatness not stand out so much at the most top lvl of play or what?

The startup values listed do not include the first active frame.
2f startup = Hits on frame 3.

Edit: added a note to the page stating as such.
Then Shining Crystal Bit (non EX) is 1+1 too , it also becomes active on frame 3. You can punish Kyo's qcf D with it.
and thanks for this. ive been having trouble finding a punish that doesnt get beat by his DP when he decides to throw it out afterwards.


another question; how does the ABCD cancel for crystal bit work? i know ideally i shouldnt be whiffing this at all... but this would help me out for when i do. ive tried pressing the buttons one after the other and also at the same time. i cant get it to work.

ive been trying to find some low cost full screen HD options with terry lately. mainly because ive been using the crouching chain as HD starter more and more, which shortens the distance a real noticeable amount to do his corner juggle.


full screen 2 stock HD [709 dmg]

opponent will be knocked into the corner. there have been a few times i got trinity geyser to hit 4 times for 784 dmg. not understanding how that works.

i really like this second one because it spits them out in the corner. also cheap! the damage isnt so impressive... but i think its ok damage considering its off a crouching light full screen.
 
compared to his 1-2 stock corner HD, i think its about 20-40 dmg less using crouching chain for both.
