Do you care about musics in fighting games?

At least I do.

For me, musics are one of the main factors is the game good. They make the game more enjoyable. For example, I like Tekken 3, but to be honest, musics in it aren't that good.

I personally like jazzy themes. They tend so sound cool and relazing, but they really make you wanna fight (at least this works for me).

Also, which fighting game has the best soundtrack? My personal favorite is Fatal Fury Special's arranged soundtrack. I like every song in it.

Yeah, I like fighting game music but I just really pick out the best for me instead of staying in one genre or soundtrack. Sometimes, I also outgrow certain music. For example, I used to think Guilty Gear has one of the best soundtracks, but now, I really only like a certain handful. Holy Orders never really did stick to me and Writhe in Pain just became too repetitive.

While playing though, it takes time for me to notice the music unless things really got slow paced. Most of the time though, it doesn't matter, but I do sit, relax and just enjoy the music while not playing.

Currently, these are the songs I'm hooked up with:
1. KoF XIII Soundtrack (I have the whole soundtrack, so yeah)
2. Last Blade 1's Change

Not so much but it's mostly due to me being in a Pokémon feel lately.

The Fluke

I think the music is important because it helps set the mood. Once the fight starts though, i don't really think about it too much. I don't know if i have any one particular favorite amongst games i've played but since its arcade release i've been amazed by kof13 and the quality of the music in it. There are some songs that don't quite hit home for me, but then again, they aren't bad and add some variety. Some songs in kof13 makes me think of the music in the first metal slug game so it really brings in some nostalgia in a weird way aswell. Amongst fighting games i think that's the winner..

I care about it. I download the song I especially like.

Of course. Gaming has produced some of the best musical compilations in history, especially in fighting. Wouldn't even know where to start as far as naming a favorite because there are too many, but my latest favorites have been KoF 99 (keep coming back to this one), KOF XIII, some SSFIV tracks, Samurai Spirits IV, and MvC 3 (glad they have a per-character theme setup again). Give me the right song in a fight and my skill just automatically improves, as if the shit just got real because Tears, Esaka?, or KD-0079 is playing.

Yeah, i care about music, but it's not one of my main concerns about a fighting game.

Anyways my favourite (fighting game) music comes from the Guilty Gear/BlazBlue games, AKA anything from Daisuke Ishiwatari.

Blind Piper

I care about music if it's great, but I can ignore it if it's poor. So it can make a game better, but not worse, in my opinion.

I don't really have a favorite music for a fighting game, personally. I'm too busy enjoying Megaman music.

sibarraz

I became a fan of SNK thanks to the music and shinkiro

At first I thought that KOF was bush league, so yeah, music is an important aspect for me

Music is pretty important to me, one of the main reasons I wasn't feeling SFIV at first and have a slight preference to A2 over 3 is due to the music.

The soundtracks that stick out the most to me as favorites are SF2I *2I Jazzy NYC, Crowded Street, and Tomboy are so mucb better than their 3S counterparts, 3S still is a fave of mine though*, 98UM, BB, and GG.

Xxenace

well Blue Mary's Blues is what made me fall in love with her in the first place so hell yeah i care about the music espcially cause its some of the best music to listen to when your out driving

LouisCipher

Oh yeah, that's a given. It's a big part of the game's Aesthetic. If it sucks or just mindless Jpop it will definitely turn me off to it, whether or not the gameplay is good is another story.

i care about the complete package, graphics, animation, great bg's, awesome musical pieces. gameplay is still king though, but because of aesthetics i dont care at all fro 2k2, while i really enjoy 98 (same goes for the way 98 > 2k2 play).

when a game is great in gameplay but also in the rest of the aspects about it like the ones i mentioned, it truly becomed a classsis and really memmorable.

this is also why i cant play games like SS games past 4. not onlydid the add characters that sucked into the games, but they also added some fucked up gameplay aspects that dont make no fucking sense. some extra salt in the wound because the games look like mugen. i feel the same way about kofs from 2k0 to 2k3, even though theyre pretty decent games.
In the end, there can only be XIII.

^This, along with "Tears" special arranged, Fatal Fury Special's "Let's go to Seoul" (Kim) and "Feared by 100 Southern Thailanders" (Joe) arranges.

Give me arranged version of "Blaze" from 2003, almost every song from XI or Geese ni Kissu from Fatal Fury and my skills should improve alot.
