Gameplay Overview
Mature returns once again to the King of Fighters with her classic, pressure-based toolkit. Mature is built to put pressure on the opponent, making opponents feel uneasy as their guard bar and health bar chips away before their eyes. To start, she has one of the best KOF-style fireballs for closing space in Ebony Tears, a slow to start, yet massive and slow moving fireball that makes getting in a cakewalk for Mature. Once she gets up close and personal, she can use Despair, Metal Massacre, and Death Row to poke and prod at the opponent, tempting them into making a choice that they will regret. Furthermore, her corner carry is some of the best in the game with supers, as Heaven's Gate, much like Rugal, will carry the opponent straight to the corner, leaving them trapped like a cornered animal.
This does, however, come with a notable downside: Mature's lack of command normals. Being the only character with no command normals, Mature misses out on some utility that other characters can afford, like extra normals for confirming combos, or the utility of having an overhead command normal. This leaves Mature's mixups slightly more awkward than other characters, but the overall utility of her toolkit lets her claw through the opposition regardless. Combine this with her slow startup of her fireball and Mature can be left in an awkward position if she is not careful with her tools.
Mature is a close-range pressure character, complete with plenty of plus frames and a fireball that helps her get right where she needs to be. | |
