OverviewStrategyDataCombosReplays

A childhood friend of Ash, Elisabeth is part of the Blanctorche bloodline, a family tasked with stopping Those from the Past. She joins this KOF to honor her debt to Kukri.
Elisabeth is far more strict with herself than others, and maintains a righteous and principled mindset that refuses to make concessions. Controlling light, her fights tend to dazzle any onlookers lucky to catch a glimpse of her in action.

Gameplay Overview

Elisabeth is a poking focused character with a slight emphasis on defense. She has great tools for pestering her opponent with hitboxes such as her 214K, 214A, and Far D. 214K is also a powerful disruptive tool that can shut down both projectile-focused and aerial-focused playstyles, forcing them to play on Elisabeth's terms. After pestering her opponent with pokes and cracking them open, Elisabeth is rewarded with some of the best meter gain and damage combos in the game. Elisabeth's primary weakness is a linear pressure game, due to her lack of plus frames and limited useful cancels on block. Elisabeth fits anywhere on a team, depending on how you like to use her, whether it's building meter and beating zoners on point, cashing out with powerful combos on anchor, or somewhere in between on mid, which is her most popular position.
Pros Cons
  • Good damage, meter gain, and stun off of easy and consistent confirms.
  • Multiple anti keep away tools.
  • Strong neutral tools, particularly in far D and j.D.
  • Good cross jump air normals.
  • 214K is an incredible anti air.
  • Anywhere juggle super turns stray anti airs into significant damage.
  • Linear pressure. Her sequences are straight forward and easy to lab against.
  • Input overlap can be an issue, especially when doing optimal confirms from lights.
  • No true meterless reversal; parry is not frame 1 start-up.
  • Subpar air to airs, has difficulty controlling space above her in the air, though j.D usually works ok.

A spin kick. Large hitbox and moves Elisabeth forward. The forward movement can be more of a hinderance when used at bad spots, as you can find yourself moving into your opponent's hitboxes. Nonetheless this is a fantastic poke that is hard to hop over and can lead to Quick Max conversions easily.

  • Projectile comes out in 13f and will proceed to detonate in 15f even if Elisabeth is interrupted
  • A version sets projectile close, C sets it further
  • EX version places two projectiles

Elisabeth tosses out a ball of light. This is an unconventional type of fireball that can be used to check an opponent when they don't want to approach. It hits multiple times, travels a set distance and is only active when it reaches its destination, and stays out even if Elisabeth is hit. This is particularly effective against playstyles that like to poke at midrange or against projectile zoning. You can also time this on a wake-up for frame advantage, as it gets more frame advantage the later it hits. This move is a committal option however, and Elisabeth can get punished hard if she's jumped on during this. If the opponent hops or jumps into the A version of the projectile, you can easily confirm into Grand Rafale (dash super) on reaction.

The EX version has Elisabeth throw out two projectiles, one close and a second one whose distance can be controlled by holding forward or back. Unlike the regular version, these will hit on their way forward, making it behave more like a traditional projectile. They will also knockdown if they hit. This can be useful for keeping an opponent locked in place, but the plus frames aren't enough to always justify the meter usage. There is also no way to combo from the knockdown outside of her anywhere juggle super.

Elisabeth teleports forward and does an uppercut. Despite its appearance, this move is only for combos; it's unsafe on block, has almost no pushback on block, and has no invincibility to speak of. The range and speed are good, especially for the A and EX versions, giving it potential use in whiff punishes or hitting errant buttons, but this shouldn't be relied upon.

  • Counters highs and mids.
  • Elisabeth teleports behind the opponent upon activation
  • Recovery of a successful counter can be canceled into a special or super

Elisabeth readies herself for an attack. If she gets hit, she will teleport behind the opponent. The window for the counter is very small, but when used well, Elisabeth can punish things that many other characters can't, such as safe blockstrings or predictable pokes. When studying match-ups, see what common situations Elisabeth can get a guaranteed counter. The B and D versions work identically until the counter goes off; the B version has Elisabeth end up point blank while the D version has her a bit away from the opponent, unless she was fullscreen when she used the counter. The B version will usually be the preferred option.

The EX version counters all types of attacks, barring throws. While it's much faster, it is not frame 1, meaning it cannot be used reliably as a reversal.

  • EX version is an overhead.
  • C version causes a hard knockdown.

A downwards slam of light. One of Elisabeth's more frequent cancels.

The A version is quick and combos from lights. It has just slightly less horizontal range than Elisabeth's far D. The move is usually safe on block due to its pushback. Because of this, this is a very low risk cancel from 2B. On hit you get a small combo that can confirm into super if you wish, and on block you will likely be unpunished. Since 2B is whiff cancellable, the move will even cover attempts to hop over 2B, since the vertical hitbox is not bad. This technique covers a lot of space and is only weak to full jumps or causing the 214A itself to whiff.

Due to the pushback, a lot of responses from the opponent on block can whiff, allowing Elisabeth to whiff punish. Knowing your opponent's options is important to using this special well.

The C version is slower and has about the same range as far D. This is a niche pressure option. While easily mashed out of due to its big startup, it's plus on block, though the pushback makes it difficult to capitalize on that. In combos, this sets up a hard knockdown which leads to great oki options.

The EX version hits overhead and is safe on block. Has very short range. This is fast enough to be considered untraceable by many and should be used to further scare your opponent into standing to open them up for a low. Causes a soft knockdown.

  • Reflects projectiles
  • Upper body invincibility
  • B version negates projectiles, D version reflects projectiles.

A wave of light in front of Elisabeth. A multi-purpose move. When used for nullifying projectiles, Elisabeth recovers very fast, allowing her to chase after her newly acquired fireball to turn the situation back onto the projectile thrower. This gives her a fantastic edge against zoners. The hitbox has a lot of active frames, allowing this to also be a pre-emptive anti-air or defense against rushing moves, such as Terry's Burn Knuckle. This can also anti-air reactively, thanks to its upper body invincibility. Overall you will be using this special a lot to force your opponent to rethink their approach. Be careful as the horizontal range is not very good and it's incredibly negative on hit or block.

The EX version is useful for extending combos. It unfortunately does not have any upper body invincibility, so save your meter when in neutral.

  • A version launches faster and combos from lights. Elisabeth takes a smaller step forwards, resulting in shorter range.
  • C version is much slower and can only combo via super cancels. Elisabeth takes a larger step forwards, resulting in greater range. The slower startup can actually be helpful during juggles and helps to avoid losing hits when the opponent is launched very high.

A giant blast of light. Go-to reversal and damaging combo ender. The range and speed on this is quite good, letting this pick up some difficult punishes, such as Elisabeth's own 214B/D.

  • Anywhere Juggle
  • Goes fullscreen
  • A 30% (15% for MAX version) scaling penalty is applied if Grand Rafale hits anywhere juggle.

A large uppercut into an aerial blast of light. This super has anywhere juggle property, meaning it can connect with an opponent in an air reset state, such as after an anti-air normal. This allows Elisabeth to pick up comparatively huge damage off of stray hits if your reactions are on point. The damage for this super in general is not very high, so it should only be used in those abare situations where nothing else will allow a conversion. The move has a lot of range but no invincibility so it cannot be used in neutral that well. Her other super is preferred in quick max combos as there no way to combo this move into Climax, even in corners.

Elisabeth with 4.5 bars can confirm off a Shatter Strike crumple into raw max activation combo. Executing A/C Grand Rafale immediately after activation will pick the opponent off the ground into a full 1-2-3 super combo, dealing upwards of 698 damage.
