The King of Fighters XV is the latest installment in the KOF series. Announced at EVO 2019, the game was revealed in January 2021. KOF XV was released worldwide on 17 February 2022. The base roster includes 39 characters with 13 DLCs added over the course of the game's first year:
- Team Garou was released on 17 March 2022
- Omega Rugal was released on 14 April 2022
- Team South Town was released on 16 May 2022
- Team Awakened Orochi was released on 8 August 2022
- Team Samurai was released on 4 October 2022
- Shingo Yabuki was released on 17 January 2023
- Kim Kaphwan was released on 4 April 2023
- Sylvie Paula Paula was released on 16 May 2023
- Goenitz was released on 20 June 2023
- Najd was released on 8 August 2023
- Duo Lon was released on 12 September 2023
- Hinako Shijo was released on 14 November 2023.
- At Evo 2024 on 19 July 2024, SNK announced that Vice and Mature will be added as DLC characters for KOF XV. They will be released simultaneously in December 2024.
