SNK Playmore trademarks “KOF”
Japan’s Trademark Bot reported that SNK Playmore has filed a trademark for KOF. The trademark is applicable for the computer games/softwares, arcade video games, and online games categories.
If you recall, in a similar fashion the trademark bot reported that SNK had filed a trademark for the Rhythm of Fighters. Shortly afterwards, the new mobile music game was launched. So this might be an ominous sign for something new to come!
Elsewhere on the web, Dual Shockers are reporting that SNK already had a trademark for KOF, which does not expire until 2018, so this is not a renewal. This further supports the idea that the new trademark would be used for something new.
