Tournament Recap: Winter Showdown 3 – The Dream Cancel Cup Finals
In this post, I will be sharing my experience traveling and attending the Dream Cancel Cup Finals at Winter Showdown 3 in Denver Colorado!
I had to catch a 5:30am flight from Minnesota to Denver Saturday morning. The flight was really quick and I was so excited when we landed.

KCO Pedro picked me up from the airport. One thing I noticed immediately was the Rocky Mountains that you can see in the west. The last time I saw any sort of land in the horizon was in Las Vegas when I attended EVO2014.

Winter Showdown 3 was held in an arcade/shop called Boss Stage. Inside were video games for sale, anime, figurines, wall scrolls and other gaming and anime accessories.

The stream setup in the back room was very nice, which was separated from the store front floor. The spectators had a monitor to view the stream which was very nice. I sat in the stream section for a bit and snapped a few pictures of players entering and leaving the room.

Whenever I go out of state to a tournament, I always have to inquire about food spots near the venue. There was a very good Mexican restaurant in the shopping center that had great cheap burritos, tacos and tamales. I didn’t try the tamales and tacos, I mainly stuck with trying out the different burritos that were $2.50 to $5.00 each. Very filling, tasty and easy on the wallet.

On Sunday was KOF finals day and the start of the King of Fighters 2002UM tournament. After playing my first match, I recorded a match between Team Chaos’ ChrisKOF and ET from Taiwan:

Overall, I really enjoyed myself in Colorado and glad I was able to make it to the Dream Cancel Cup finals. I made it an obligation to myself to attend since myself and a few others brainstormed the Dream Cancel Cup circuit and worked to keep it moving throughout 2015. Every person that attended Winter Showdown 3 were winners in my opinion. Big thanks and shoutouts to the Kingsofco crew for hosting the finals this year and supporting the KOF community!

Thats awesome!! I Always wanted to join a tourney but never went through with it. I just bought a few street fighter figures from animecart.com. excited for them to come through. Maybe Ill follow throw and find myself at one of your tourneys haha
